You can tell from the scream that it didn't really hurt them that much, but cool nonetheless

I’d be more impressed if they paid off $55k with net pay of $40-50k, but these people make double what their debt is so I don’t see the problem was.

Give us some realistic examples Half the nation making 30k and less even with degrees.

Rich white privileged ppl making $100,000 per year pay off 55k. Shit. I could live off of 30k and pay off my student loans too.

Cut costs. Saved you from watching the video.

Cute couple but I learned almost nothing from listening to their story. At a certain point I’m like, “is this dude gonna ask them any useful questions or is he gonna keep acting like he’s at a brunch shooting the breeze while they wait for their other family members to show up”? Essentially they decided to live on the average household income for a year, instead of a middle class income, while they paid off debt. Pretty simple. It’s a bit easier to do that when you’re young. I’m happy for them and applaud their efforts, it’s just all useless information imho.

What a load of horseshit. How about giving some advice to people who actually struggle for a living. Single dads with kids who can't even afford to live in their own place because of simple food expenses, child support and student debt. I have very few expenses left to cut that wouldn't leave me out of a job and a home. "Make more money" is MUCH easier said than done for most people. I don't see incurring more student debt in hopes of getting a better job as a very bright idea. Dave Ramsey is a hypocrite.

My total debt was just under 100k from student loans and I only make 25k a year :/
Only 70k left and my payment plan should get me to be able to pay it off in 6 years. Currently I'm breaking even income wise.

Hilarious, these people who make paying off 55K in 14 months while making 130k between them. Seriously? Was it really that difficult to pay off 55K while living on 60-75K.

slash your life style cut out all the fun in life. I have to be the objector here and say that I strongly disagree with your old school thinking and teaching and ask that you teach opportunity costs

  45. The Daily Hustle
    July 27, 2021 at 10:39 am

opportunity costs suggests you should never pay off your school debt… Rather you should defer your student loans and refi your student loan as much as possible and pay the paper fiat money with dollars that are constantly worth less and let the debt erode in purchasing power.

if you can't figure out how to start a business and make more than 2-4% on your money then pay off the student loans. if you are a business owner invest into yourself and your business. I make 153% to 3000% in my business. why would I ever pay off my 18k in student loans when I can invest 18k and make 200%-3000% with my money?

invest the money and learn to use debt to buy cashflowing assets like real estate.

don't pay off houses. same principal applies. opportunity costs and risk in trapping your life savings into a money pit / liability like a house.
