Make sure you listen to ALL the requirements! I have had many people ask me about the program and they are spreading misinformation. Don't miss out for failure to follow the guidelines.

My biggest regret is getting my masters in wasting five years at a bank because I could’ve been in a non-for profit been making minimum payments had a reduced compound interest and then debt-free seven years ago instead I’m still paying

I was in that program for a year never missed a payment and I only applied for the payments toward the program any extra payments before that was going toward future interest Fed Loan’s is the worst company ever so we just decided to pay it off in less than 10 years we got about two more years to go

Wait a minute, you come and want a loan to invest in your future, then we get to the future, and now you're scraping for ways to get out of paying it back? You evaluated your future circumstances and vouched you would pay it back, but now we need to let you skate? You knew exactly where it was headed yet you persisted. Ha! Consumer protection such that now you've consumed, you don't want to produce? Some advice for the future; keep digging up politicians that will say and do anything just to get your vote. Good luck with this country. Don't worry about me, at 70, I wont be around.

If you make larger payments do they count towards extra payments… ie if your payments were $100 and you paid $200 does that count as 2 payments?

    July 24, 2021 at 2:24 pm

The balance of the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) is not taxed after the 120 payments. Also, Biden just ablated the tax on the 20 year and 25 year payments, as well.

I fear that I'd be rejected from this program like the other 33000 people. Only less than 1% actually got approved, even though most qualified.

Great video. You are incorrect on the tax imprecations, however. The forgiveness is NOT counted as taxable income. It is FORGIVEN forgiven.

Hi, Just wanted to alert you to the fact that PSLF does not tax you for the student loans forgiven. Here is the information:

"Are loan amounts forgiven under PSLF considered taxable by the IRS? No. According to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), student loan amounts forgiven under PSLF aren’t considered income for tax purposes."
Note however that this is not the case for most of the other loan forgiveness programs. PSLF is truly remarkable in that once the amount is forgiven, you are free and clear!

I really need to sign up for this! I heard of it a while of ago, but I keep forgetting and procrastinating. I didn't know about it having to be a federal direct loan part though. I am going to try to get this paperwork in by the end of the summer. Thank you for this video! Very helpful and informational as usual 🙂

Your right! Tuition is inflated. Hopefully, we can come up with a solution that is sustainable long term! That way less students would go into massive student loan debt every year!
