I went to school for something I didn't even follow through with. I eventually became a Software Engineer via a coding bootcamp and now I have to pay them almost 30k over the next 2 years. So, I went home to live with my mother due to the pandemic and because I was in this coding bootcamp. So, I figure now that I'm working I might as well stay home even though I'm 30 and get ahead of these school loans.

So, at the moment I'm stacking up about 2,000 a month being extremely frugal. My hope is that they do move forward with some sort of loan forgiveness. But, for as long as these interest rates are on pause I won't be making my payment. Once the repayments start back up though then I'll put what ever I've saved towards repayment. My hope is to not start repaying and then get snagged to repay my loan and then they forgive the loans and here I am fully paid off already. I won't lie, I'd be extremely sour about it. I do feel like I made a bad choice with the for profit school I chose to go to. So, if they're going to offer forgiveness then I'll take it. I don't even know why they'd allow veterans to use their gi bill at these predatory schools. But, at the time I wasn't mature enough to be making that sort of choice on my own. But, because I served off course I wasn't a dependent and was allowed to sign on the dotted line.

We'll see but fingers crossed. At the very least doing away with interest would be great. I do plan to document that journey and share numbers on my channel as well if any one is interested, not that i think any one would be.

I hope they extend the no interest, this has really help me make progress on my student loans. I think the entire student loan system needs an overhaul.

This no interest has been amazing and Iโ€™m actually paying off the principal balance. I hope they forgive at least 10k or extend the interest until 2022

Iโ€™m fine with paying back loans I took out. I just would like the 0% interest to continue

Biden lied about student loan forgiveness while he was campaigning. Pardon my ignorance but how come Biden thinks he has the power to cancel 10K but not 50K? And even if it is 10K, he said within the first 100 days he was going to cancel this amount and borrowers are still waiting. As Dave Ramsey always says, "never wait for Washington to solve your problems because they will never get solved"

I think people need to give joe sometime. People want him to get everything done right away and he hasnโ€™t even been in office a year. Hope they extend the no payments out until Jan 2022.

Hey Tasha, this was fantastic information you shared! I was blessed by my parents and brother. I stayed home and went to a local college to get my associates degree..so I have no student debt. Have been thinking how I can go to school and get my bachelor's degree on someone's else dime. I just paid off my second credit card. Now I only have three debts left. I'm hungry and focused to have a debt free life!
