students should not have to pay back loans for years. There is something wrong in the USA. Where I come from, there are hardly any student loans. It seems that you are punishing youngsters with this burden, if they want an education. There might be some debts for higher education like PHD degrees etc.

I wouldn't take any more advice from nerdwallet I've tried to leave a bad review but couldn't find how to do it on google. They recommend credit cards and loan s companies that scams, they do not verify the company they support on their websites. Ex: they said Cashusa is a good source for people with bad or no credit… I do not have credit yet so I sign up to get a loan through what I thought was CashUSA but come to find out they just take your information and sell it to other websites do the exact same thing none of them are actual lenders they are lead generators selling your information to other lead generators you do not get connected to an actual loan company at all just a bunch of scam emails claiming you've been approved but then have to do a new application each email.

Hi, I have a parent loan for my kids. Now, they don't want to pay anymore. It is in my name. After 20 years of payment, Now I have a balance of about $27500 with AES. the interest rate is at 5.25%. Should I refinance with the Federal student loan. I believed they are cheaper and no cost to refiance. Also I hope Congress may cancel or waive $10000 for each student loan next year? Should I refinance with the Federal or private bank loan? What is the current interest rate for the loan? My Fico is around 725. Thanks, Dennis
