i use Chase as my brokerage. on Chase brokerage it’s showing that’s there’s no minimum amount to buy VTSAX. i don’t have to buy $3k worth as an initial buy. any insight on this? good? bad? any help is much appreciated (:

My company 401K doesn’t offer any total stock market index fund. However, it offers US LargeCap Equity, US MidCap Equity, and US SmallCap Equity index funds with 0.01% ER and average of 10-year 11% return for each one of them. I am thinking of adding these three into my portfolio and allocating 70%, 20%, and 10% respectively to capture the entire stock market like the VTSAX (that I don’t have access to). Is there any danger with these reasoning?

If you buy VTI on Fidelity, does it get rolled over to VTSAX TOO when I reach the 3,000 threshold??

    Thanks for the video!

But how to maintain? I mean do we need to do anything after buying? Are we gonna sell when it's high or is it automatic? Are the earnings gonna be reinvested automatically as well? What to do after a number of years etc?

    Thanks in advance!

VTSAX has to go into a Roth IRA? What if I dont 1 an IRA? Can I put my VTSAX in an IRA at a later time? Having an IRA equals to a better growth?

Thank you Brad, I have subscribed. I have a question about VTSAX. I was able to purchase VTSAX in a Roth IRA with less than the 3,000 minimum. Until I get to 3,000 what am I missing from my investments in the fund because I am receiving money back from the returns?

Can I buy VTSAX through a discount broker like TD Ameritrade since I have an account with them or do I have to have a Vanguard account to buy VTSAX?

Hello! I am new to your channel and i am glad to find it! Quick question: I have VTI and its almost going to hit $3,000. In your video you said that when VTI hits $3,000 it will convert to VTSAX. How does that work? I'm still a little confused in that part. Thanks!

I’m 21 and I currently have $7,000 in my Roth IRA with the 2060 Target Date Fund.

Is VTSAX better than the 2060 Target Date Fund? I’m trying to make sure I’m doing the best possible thing while I’m still young and don’t regret anything later on.

Also, my brokerage is currently through Schwab. Should I switch to Vanguard in order to invest in VTSAX. I don’t want to get any fees for moving the Roth IRA around.

If I only have a little over $3,000 to invest, is it worth it? I read that vanguard gives a $20 yearly fee if the account worth less then $10,000, so I’m thinking I should hold off and wait until I build more capital.

Very helpful video, man. Thank you. I have one question if you don't mind answering. I'm no financial expert at all. So I opened up a Roth IRA account w/ Vanguard and want to invest my initial 3k into VTSAX. I'm aware that Roth IRA's are tax free because you first contribute taxed income. My question is – what if I have 3k in my savings that was accumulated from gift money from previous years (Graduations, birthdays, etc). Is there any way I can get penalized for not paying taxes on this and investing in my Roth? Any info would help a lot as I'm really trying to get started in this. Thanks man.

Is it not very wise to invest in both VFIAX and VTSAX?? The admiral shares have a $3,000 minimum investment on vanguard and being Roth IRA only allows $6,000 a year so I can only invest in two admiral index funds currently. I already invested in VFIAX per one of Graham Stephen’s videos but I’m not sure which I should pair with it in my portfolio since it’s a 50%/50% investment.
