Incredible how good you are at teaching. It’s so clear when you explain what each function does as you type it in, makes it very easy to follow and understand what’s going on. Thank you!

Hi can you provided a function that would allow me to insert the company logo next to the company name/ticker? Thanks

I am attempting to recreate your excellent spreadsheet by following along. Also have the completed file on the side to verify things. My issue is I keep getting "Excel ran out of resources while attempting to calculate one or more formulas. As a result, these formulas cannon be evaluated.
    Might anyone have some suggestions?
I've already "Show Formulas" and they all look fine to me.

Everything was explained in a very detailed manner! Thank you so much for this video.
Just one doubt, how did you format the values in the market value and today's change columns to make it appear red?
    Thank you in advance!

    Hi,
It worked very well at the start. You made an awesome tracker.
However, with more entries in the ledger (about 220 + ), now I get following error
"Excel ran out of resources while attempting to calculate one or more formulas. As a result, these formulas cannot be evaluated."
    Any fixes for this?

23:52 Chart formatting can be completely copied from the first chart using copy formatting function, so you don't need to adjust again individually.

I really enjoyed the video. However, for those stocks I sold, it still appears in my portfolio dashboard. Can you make a video on dealing stocks that we sold and the profit we earn. Thank you.

I am building something similar but want to include stocks in different time zones and FX rates. I've noticed the reported dates differ between different stocks (some countries have holidays where there is no trading). Is there a way I can make the historical dates align? e.g If a stock wasn't trading on a specific day the historic price is just listed as the last trading day

Love the dashboard and you explained it well. One question, I have some ETF's as well as single stocks and now after making the dashboard I have '#FIELD!' in the Industry parts for the ETF's. Do you have any recommendations or tricks for adding them into this dashboard without getting this error?

    Hi There,
Thank you for the tutorial. Just a question: For the Gain/(Loss) column – this calculates the unrealized Gain or Loss for any SOLD shares and for any holding shares – so some of it is realized. How can we old show Gain/Loss on currently holding share? E.G.: I could have bought 2 shares from XYZ – I sold 1 and kept one – the formula gives me the Gain from selling the 1 share and the unrealized gain on the share I still have. I hope this makes sense.

    Thank you!

I have a problem with stock history as one of the stocks did not get completely filled. It gives me a N/A error. The formula has not been modified (TRANSPOSE(STOCKHISTORY(B24,TODAY()-365,TODAY(),0,0,1)). The rest of the stock info is correct (name, ticker, etc). Any tips on this?

Great tutorial! But I'm having trouble with the sorting from the ledger to the dashboard. At first it was working just fine, but after I kept adding more stocks and selling some, it would start to show the same stock twice (once for the time I bought it and another for the time I sold it) and I don't know how to fix it.

Hi Mynda, another great video. Love good stock dashboards and there is plenty of extras that can be added to this type of setup including tracking week-on-week ROI or ROI over time to date or even go a little more in-depth and add in a chart tracking Beta over time. The possibilities are endless but this video lays out the concept really nicely.
I would like to ask if there is a way for a pivot chart to be "filtered" according to a selection the user makes? For example, I have X amount of items plotted to the same line chart because they belong to the same "family" of data, in this case, the market cap which I then use to calculate extras such as the median, the multiplicative mean, a Hull Average, two lots of weighted moving averages and two lots of exponential weighted moving averages but that's quite a lot in terms of visual impact, however, I am looking for a way to filter or toggle out some of the items in order for me to present my narrative on a given asset, for example, the Hull Average vs Market Cap Standard showing trend directionality. So far, I am either being dense as I've not found a solution to this or there is no in-built functionality to accomplish this and so I would assume that I'd have to head in to doing a spot of VBA coding to achieve this? Any help would be awesome but in either case, thank you for the great content.

Hi, This is what I've been looking for. I have multiple currencies in my Ledger but these don't convert to the base currency on the Dashboard. I have USD, AUD and GBP. The totals add upas simple sums, but they look as though they are all in AUD. Eg, £1000 should convert to 1847 AUD but it stays at $1000 AUD.

    Great Dashboard! Love it!
I have a stock which is displayed in different currency, (NOK, norwegian krone). Can that somehow be converted to USD? Otherwise it messes up all my portfolio, as it thinks the price is in USD.

I would like to see how to calculate weighted averages for stock buys, when there are a 2 or 3 BUYS of say BHP on different dates AND 1 or 2 SELLS of say BHP on different dates. All weighted average sums seem to ignore SELLS. Maybe SELLS do not form part of the weighted average, and SELL amounts are simply 'removed' from the sums at the original weighted price?

Awesome video. Very easy to follow, even for an Excel novice like myself.
Only problem is two of my ASX ETFs won’t show up with the stock data. Tickers GOLD and ETPMPD.
I emailed Microsoft but I’m not holding my breath for a reply. Maybe one day in the future I’ll have a fully functioning, awesome investment spreadsheet.
