If I'm using my own money why do I need 25k in my account?

Where is this account info window on think or swim? I can find it and it would be helpful to know how many trades I have left.

This rule seems to hurt more “novice investors” than it seems to help. How does preventing someone from trading when a stock is dumping into the garbage but you can’t trade because you’ve either been marked as a day trader or you want to avoid being marked as one.

It’s understandable that some restrictions are needed for day tradings but this is way too much!!

Crypto currency is the future investment, investing in it will be the wisest thing to do especially with the current rise

Hi. I have 30,000k in my account. My first week with TOS. I already made 3 trades this week.

My last trade hasn't cleared yet, but I have a buying power of 7,000…. Will I get flagged for PDT if I do my 4th trade?

    Thanks.

    Very well explained video.
I already learned most of the idea from reading up and researching, but I needed something like this just to be sure.

Should not discourage people who got cash accounts just need to wait for the settlement days. A FINRA rule applies to any customer who buys and sells a particular security in the same trading day (day trades), and does this four or more times in any five consecutive business day period; the rule applies to margin accounts, but not to cash accounts

If you bring the equity above 25k do you have to apply for anything else to avoid pdt? Or will the broker already know? I can buy and close as much as I want so long as im above 25k?

    Hi there,

I was thinking about a situation that I really don't know if it is considered a case of some violation.

    The scenario is:

I have a large margin account (more than USD 25.000 -instant funds available after sell them (don't need to wait T+2)

I will NEVER buy and sell in the same day, so, it is impossible to be considered a day trade.

    Case:

Monday: Buy all portoflio of APPL (example)

Tuesday: Sell all portfolio of APPL

Wednesday: Buy all portolio of APPL again

Thursday: Sell all portofilio off APPL again

Are there some violation in this scenario? What do you think about it?

    I'm more confused lol

Btw, with options, the ghetto spread is a way to lock in profits without falling as day patter trading

Does this apply to marginal shares or just large accounts

For those who struggle from the PDT rule, just sell off everything and transfer the money to your bank account, wait for 90 days before start trading again.

sound like they want eliminate poor people from making money cause I don think they give 0 fucks about people loosing money ok you pay taxes on the money rotes or traditional now 2001 they made up a rule by the hedge funds to prevent the ordinary investor from day trading know damn well if they added 5 day trades it or still would be enough if you want to get in out of a stock so it basically ties the trader hands image be scared to trade a stock thats sky rocketing cause you dont have any more dat trade or exit out positions cause you use 3 that week already shit stupid as fuck
