Doterra Stock Market – The Cult I Almost Joined – Young Living Essential Oils

Doterra Stock Market – Best Deal Right Now?

Young Living Essential Oils is a cult, and an MLM. I almost joined the cult in college, but I got informed and avoided it. I used to thing Young Living was a scam and nothing more, but after having studied the work of cult expert and psychologist, Steven Hassan, I now know otherwise. D. Gary Young is a scam artist, criminal, and conman of the highest order. Contrary to what he taught, essential oils don’t work as medicine, and they certainly don’t cure cancer. Whether it’s Young Living, Doterra, or any other multilevel marketing company selling oils, keep in mind that oils have minimal use outside of aromatherapy for comfort/relaxation.

Thanks to Telltale for introducing me to the BITE model and Hassan’s work on cult psychology, and for contributing an awesome part to this video. Subscribe to Telltale:

Inb4 cultists bombard the comment section with arguments I've already debunked on my channel multiple times. Also, remember to sub to Telltale!

My mom was and is a BIG omeopathy fan. She raised me tellitelling me that omeopathy had healed me as a child when conventional medicine couldn't, and that tea tree oil was the only effective cure for herpes virus (mind you, a cure for herpes literally doesn't exist). I'm now in med school and we argue around twice a year about it, but there's no way to convince her. Even to my best arguments she spits back "you can claim it doesn't work but you're living proof they do, since they heal you as a child". I've tried explaining to her: placebo effect, that any other medicine I had been taming could have finally been effective, that a simple diet change could have very well fixed my stomach issues, that I could have just grown out of it or healed on my own. I even tried proposing that even if they did heal my specific issue, they don't heal the other 99% of things they claim they do, and that if they did heal me, it was pure luck with no scientific research and with that same method it could have also worsened the situation. BUT THERE IS NO WAY, these people have been brainwashed and you can't convince them of that.

I’m a witch. I use oils and aroma therapy in my day to day life. Here’s a list of what they can do
-help greatly with meditation and calming the mind
    -alleviate a stuffed nose
    -help with a headache
    -help you fall asleep easier

    Here’s what they can’t do
    -cure your polio.
    -un-paralyze you
    -cure fucking cancer

Get fucking vaccinated and don’t give your money to pyramid schemes.

Second side point: stop treating autism like it’s some horrible fatal disease. We’re human beings stop trying to cure us

Just an FYI, allopathic medicine is a cult too. Doctors blindly trust the CDC despite their incompetence and the fact that millions have been harmed by their recommendations.

That's a very fast and loose interpretation. Sounds more like a pyramid scheme to me. Remember that cults insulate their members, enforce strict discipline within their ranks, and attempt to control pretty much every aspect of their members' lives. This sounds more like, "Oh shit! I just paid a bunch of money for a flaming bag of shit. I can either cut my losses or try to sell my flaming bag of shit to someone else. Pyramid/Ponzi scheme.

I find that essential oils are great for sauteeing chicken breasts. And by "essential oils," I mean soybean and olive, which are the only ones I know.

I had no idea how evil Young was. I’m a Christian and think I should get rid of the few oils I bought from his company. I do diffuse oils at home but I mostly use oils from regular producers like NOW Foods (which you could get at Whole Foods or a regular vitamin store). Please do a video on Dr. Axe. He’s a real piece of work as well. He claims to cure sociopathy, AIDS, to have cured his mother from cancer, and has been trying to build an essential oil company with his own distilleries. I thought humanity has grown beyond snake oil and magic beans!

Reminds me of a skit on SNL called "Those Unlucky Andersons", where the dad, played by Chevy Chase, told his family to just "put some butter on it" for any ailment.
