I just wanted to let everyone know how happy I am with the service provided by Markenstech911. COM. His service from start to finish has been exemplary and on a professional, knowledgeable, yet friendly level that far exceeds most agencies I have dealt with. Nothing ever seems to be too much trouble to him and I am made to feel unique, never feeling that I am just one of many clients that him and his office have to deal with each day. My scores went up an average of 180 points! thank u so so much MARKENSTECH911

According to James, since 2015 the groups operated as one commo operation that shared headquarters, exhanchange transaction and bought out each others acquired debt.

James stated that their actions put them in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Consumer Financial Protection Act of 2010 and New York state law.

The original complaint was filed in the U.S. District of Court for the Western District of New York. The complaint seeks consumer redress, disgorgement of ill-gotten gains, civil money penalties, and appropriate injunctive relief against the defendants. Tangible evidence!!!!

Thank you for this powerful video indeed humans are creatures of habit and I can attest to what you're saying and I had to make a conscious effort to say to myself that I deserve better and dont have to settle for current situation. So it starts with your subconscious and make it a reality by doing whatever to get out of debt and your world will change.

In addition to stopping illegal practices, the complaint seeks refunds of debts improperly collected and civil penalties under the CFPA and New York General Business Law.

James said the companies operated as a common enterprise, sharing headquarters, exchanging financial transactions and buying out each others’ acquired debts.

According to a complaint filed in U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York, the companies since 2015 have harassed consumers, fraudulently threatened them with arrest or other legal action, and lied to them about how much debt they owed.

“We will not sit idly by as debt collectors extort payment from consumers by using illegal and deceitful tactics,” James said. “Collecting on money that consumers do not owe – and doing so using false threats of arrest and other unscrupulous means – is inexcusable and unlawful.”

The complaint, filed Tuesday, alleges 14 violations of the Consumer Financial Protection Act, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and New York General Business Law.

While consumer complaints about debt collectors have dropped slightly since the start of the coronavirus pandemic in March, the commission's consumer protection chief, Andrew Smith, anticipates that will change as collectors increasingly target people experiencing crisis-related financial hardship.

Of more than 85,000 debt collection complaints from consumers this year, the FTC said nearly half pertained to debts that didn’t exist or to abusive and threatening practices.

“Now would be about the time that this would start — that we would start to see consumer complaints associated with financial distress caused by the pandemic,” Smith said. “This might be debt collection complaints; it also might be complaints about various credit repair organizations or debt relief, mortgage relief and debt settlement.”

The commission, working with other federal agencies and authorities in 16 states, is also launching a campaign to give consumers tips on what to do when confronted with a debt collection call. It includes a tip sheet with potential red flags, such as a collector refusing to provide the name of his or her company, the amount of debt or the original credito

NEW YORK (AP) — Those mysterious debt collectors who call insisting you’ll be in legal peril if you don’t pay them big bucks are in hot water themselves, accused in a nationwide crackdown of harassing and threatening consumers, often about debts that don’t actually exist.

The Federal Trade Commission on Tuesday highlighted enforcement actions filed in recent months against two South Carolina-based debt collection firms accused of bilking people out of a combined $17.2 million, as well as settlements with three other firms accused of using pressure tactics and other shady practices.

Ironically, the firms that agreed to financial settlements were unable to pay the full amounts.

FILE- In this Aug. 6, 2020 file photo, New York State Attorney General Letitia James takes a question at a news conference in New York. During a Tuesday, Sept. 29 media conference call on an initiative, dubbed "Operation Corrupt Collector," James offered frank advice to older people who are often seen as easy marks for dubious debt collectors. "Senior citizens, as I always say, they've earned the right to hang up and to be rude," James said. "Most seniors are not rude, but when it comes to individuals engaging in illegal conduct, they should hang up and report the collector to the FTC immediately."
