Will vanguard draft money from your bank into ETF or do you have to manually buy them with cash from your money market? If that's the case I don't like the idea of unallocated funds sitting there until you decide to buy the ETF. I hope that makes sense.

AT difficult to see the symbol letters of each ETF. The letters are small to start with and you barely mention them clearly while the other information you provide is very good

ETFs are ok but Vanguard has a better selection of regular mutual that are not ETFs….if you plan on holding a vanguard mutual fund for a very long time there is nothing wrong with investing in a regular mutual fund especially through vanguard with their very low fees….ETFs are like stocks where you can jump in and out….which you definitely should not do for a long term investor…you will be on the losing side more times than not to try and time the markets..like I said vanguard has great ETFs and regular mutual funds but the regular mutual fund selection is better…

Another great Video!!! I would like to rollover over my retirement fund with vanguard. Would you suggest rolling over a 100k to one fund like VTSAX? Or should I structure it differently due to current market situations? Appreciate your suggestions!

I think you need to look at diversifiiciation a little differently. Many of us have substantial investments that are fixed and need diversication to complement those investments. For example : in my case I am a social security recipient with a house I live in that provides substantial rental income. However, i have a substantial exposure to a) the US real estate market b) the value of the dollar. With my portfoliio, i have emphasized the ETF VSS substantially(along with some commodity ETF's) with the hope to have an asets that is less involved with either the dollar or US real estate market.

What about holding a long term bond in an increasing interest rate environment? Serious downside loss of principal, yep. Great when rates are dropping but a burn of 1% per year of duration, ouch!
