Sorry to hear what happened to you. I believe banks should be for the people and if they were smart, they should come up with a way if it's not there fault then give us the ability to pay a small fee to get these derogatory remarks off our credit file. Why should anyone have to suffer a 7 year setback for these minor mishaps. Let's all take our money back from them and not use them for anything, let's see where they'll be! Just my 2 cents. Am sick of what they do to people who put them where they are!

Ya that's tough lesson to learn from and go through. i went through a similar experience. After a medical crises lead to financial crises for me in 2017, i went from 8 credit cards & low to mid 700 scores to low 600s and 5 cards were cancelled. i spent all of 2018 and most of 2019 only using cash and rebuilding my credit. I'm finally back up to 7 cards and my scores and ranging from 720 – 740. It will take some time, but you can get back up there. And yes income is becoming much more important for banks these days. Best of luck.

The annoying thing is it can take ages to build a credit rating up but can lose it quick! Sorry to hear your story but great to inform others.

I'm happy to hear your rebound sentiment: looking at what you currently have. It could be worse. I can certainly relate to experiencing blunders. In fact, just last night I was thinking of should have, would have, could have and then I was reminded that I would not even be where I am today without some help. I'm just grateful of where I am today.
