It's best to get other things with Navy Federal first. Even if she had gotten a pledge loan first, they can see some type of relationship with other products. Navy Federal doesn't really care about your transunion score although they pull from transunion. They care more about your individual relationship with them as a bank. My score wasn't even as high as her score and I got a high limit card on my first time, but that was after I had the pledge loan with them. Tell her to try that because with that loan she will get her money back as she pays it off. also always prequalify. No hard pull. Blessings..

Glad I came across this video where an experienced person has never seen this either. I just got approved for a NFCC and my score was a 313 on their model. Eyebrows were raised when I got my decision letter of approval. I just assume with all that has been going on with the pandemic that things are changing with NFCU. Eager to see where this jumps my limit/score to in the next 60 days. Thanks for the info!

I had a similar profile. Transunion 667 and Navy Federal score 368. I was denied. I was denied for excessive credit obligations in relation to income. And I was also pre-approved for all of their cards.

For those that don’t know. Navy Federal now has a pre-qualify tool. Login into your account from a computer, once you’re signed in, at the of the screen select accounts, then select open a new account, select credit card. Stroll down a little and you’ll see pre-qualify (No impact to your score). You’ll then be redirected to another screen, sign-in & it’ll show your card offers. At least you’ll have an idea before taking a hard inquiry & points… I hope that this information helps someone.

I just got approved with them for $20,000 Go Reward Credit Card with a 780 Transunion Fico, 773 Experian Fico & 790 Equifax Fico. My old CCs were Wells Fargo ($800), Cap 1 QkSlver One ($500) And i was surprised to get 20k but i always pay my cards in full monthly before statement cuts!

Would now be a good time to request a credit increase. I have been with Navy Federal for 10 months, was only approved for 1,000 to start, I did a transfer used all 1,000 then paid it off in 8 months. Now have zero balance an my score with them shows 729, my score on my capital one card shows 702.

Navy Federal isn’t going to give you a credit card if you don’t have a relationship with them. They also might be looking at TU Fico 9 bank card scores.

Hey bro Navy Federal pulled my Equifax FICO 9 score for my personal loan and they pulled my TransUnion score to open my secured credit card, and they give you your free Equifax FICO 9 score.

Do you think FICO 10 will stop the process of Authorized Users (tradelines)? I am adding my niece and my daughter to my credit history. Asking a friend!

people need to understand having good credit is a game you have to know how to play
these people realize the people are waking up about having good credit and thats why they
keep changing the rules. Thats why they never taught us about the benefits of having good credit.
Most people(especially blacks) at the age of 30 yrs old don't know anything about having credit.
I always tell people having good credit is more important than having money. we will never figure out
how they come up with this algorithm that they use, that why fico has several models and its all to keep
us in the dark about having good credit, because having it comes with getting money and with money comes
with getting power and thats something they don't want so for all you people that in the 700's or better congratulations
just remember one missed payment or closed account(for any reason will drop u score significantly) and it will take forever to
come back up so be careful with your good credit, and good luck to those on their way there!!

Hi, I applied for a NFCU car loan with credit over 740 and under 15% credit utilization and got denied for 40k car loan. They said I had too much overall debt, with the amount still own on mortgage. I them got approved with Wells for the whole amout and nothing down at 5.9%. Two months later refinanced the car with capital one for 3.5. I has shocked that I was denied by Navy!
