U.fi Student Loans – Review

I’m $50,000 in Student Loan Debt | Are Student Loans Worth It

I’ve made a lot of great money from side hustles in college, but those didn’t cover all of my fees. Now that I’ve graduated, I wanted to open up about my owing $50,000 in student loan debt, and whether I think it was worth it. I get a lot of questions about financial aid, so I hope my story can be helpful!

I feel bad for the young kids getting into student loan debt straight up out of high school.

I graduated h.s. 20 yrs ago and I knew straight up my parents didn't have the money to send me to 4 yr university. I started out at a CC and paid out of pocket (wasn't old enough to claim myself as independent until 24) for a few yrs. After I transferred due to so many issues with the first college, I was able to get Pell grants and as I went through my experience, I learned that college was a hustle regardless of being at the CC or University level. I figured it wasn't worth the effort of me trying to transfer a university after graduating.

You can graduate college and have nothing to show for it but a bunch of debt until you're 40 if you can't find work in the field you're in.

School is the new money game. People, especially women, trust in school too much and ruin their financial life. A lot of them can't find a job equaling the payment. Think twice.

Luckily financial aid and other scholarships are able to pay my entire cost of attendance. However if I were in live in a dorm, I’d have to take over 9k in loans. Not worth it in the slightest, imo. In the end of the day, I want to prioritize my education and pick the best financial choice

Rule #1: a college degree and student loans are a business decision.
Rule #2: go back to rule #1.

If your degree was required for your job , then consider it a good debt. Studying abroad , glad you had that experience and of course that’s an education onto itself 💜💕❤️

This whole thing is individual and also it’s about expectations. The real world is different from dreamers. Deal with it.
Don’t knock it. It helps to tamp down your expectations. College degrees do not trump work experience in some jobs.

Meh. Just kill a cop. Take their gun. Kill a few more cops that show up. Then yourself. Student loan gone. Get more done that than trying to pay back.

If ppl don't want to PAY, BACK

They need to be frugal about what they BORROW…which is a huge part of the issue.

The OP said she CHOSE to frolic abroad overseas, OPM aka on Other People's 'Borrowed' Money

Which isn't a problem IF one understands that, once out of school it is TIME to pay off that

    30/40/50 thousand dollar CAR LOAN

If one doesn't agree that the lifelong VALUE of said Paid for Education and Abroad 'experience' etc isn't worth 50k….then DON'T borrow, it….it's quite simple.

Ppl 😢 about owing for DECADES, during the same time they finance cars and furnish apts, buy homes etc

How about spending the 1st few years after graduation living LIKE a college student on the PAY, BACK being GRATEFUL being given the opportunity to go to school on a borrowed nickel….and just pay it BACK and be done?

But NO, too many feel they DESERVED to borrow, then after graduation they DESERVE to SPEND like they don't OWE.

Come out of school and drive the same type of car a 'broke' college kid would drive vs financing a 30-35k ride and that's over HALF the battle, right there.

It's amazing how much car loan and insurance can be paid over that 5/6 yr car loan😳but ppl are soooo broke come student loan repayment time.

We'd be better off MAKING ppl make some payments AS-THEY-GO and I betcha folks would figure out how to NOT spend as much.

When you're paying Fish sticks will do, when the 💰 feel fake, ya can only get lobster😏

No. College is overpriced and not worth it for most people. STIM yes the rest no. There are millions of jobs that make 150 to 200 an hour with no college required.

There should be no reason WHY YOU can’t pay off the debt that you have . This channel definitely pays a decent chuck. Not to mention your current job.

Frustration has been the order of the day for me, I keep trying my best every morning to make good money for myself. seems really impossible for me at all point, are some destined to be rich an others to be poor? I just feel like taking my life.

I understand that what ur point has merit but why are we sad about it if we receive 4 years of high-level from professionals learning with facilities and housing and you don't make money you kinda have to expect debt and its not the colleges' fault they are really forcing you and community college may be a good idea if your just seeking a job but for some degrees, you need a good school to get into a good grad school

Did you ever gain the freshman 15? If not what about the covid-15? Online school has me extremely sedentary right now. How did you manage your weight in college?

Soooooo bottom line is you paid $50K + interest to push paper at Amazon and be a multi-year debt slave to white zaddy???
You should hit me up for guidance and re-education as your miseducation has been entirely too effective.
Bc when it comes to the money, if you ain't doing it right, you're gonna get left for sure.

I know it seems impossible. You WILL get through this. I had $72,000 in debt… a big chunk of it from student loans. I should be finished this year with everything. One step in front of the other… you will make it through.

You need a budget. Budgets are actually really empowering because you know you can go out to eat sometimes and spend $30 without it breaking your bank.

So you went to a really expensive School the state school in Texas but you also did the study abroad program? Did you get any type of student internship while you were abroad that you could use to offset your loans when your next job opportunity pay off your student loans or give you some additional benefits for going back to school to update your degree? When you need to do it in two to four years anyway? Do you get the ability to ask for Loan forgiveness because of the pandemic?
