Tears coming out about his parents working their whole lives for him to fulfill his dream while being ok with his parents paying $600/mo for him.

This guy makes me angry. I feel so bad for his parents. Was it his parents dream to be saddled for $600.00 a month for an education he does not appreciated? This is so disappointing.

I think it's bullshit that the system even allows ppl to rack up debt on overpriced schools/degrees in the first place. These crooks are predatory and greedy and y'all are basically defending them. Bunch of sheep and squares.

"Like, I'm doing the best that I can under the circumstances"
3 seconds. In the first 3 seconds of this video, Simon said something that wasn't true.

We need a jubilee. Forgive all debt and start over. Debt is only benefitting the greedy hoarders. They have more than they need already.

paying $100 a year more for 25 years? that's utter BS. get real. i owe way less than this guy and i struggled my entire *ucking life and was very depressed about it at one point. I make a lot more than him too. un*ucking believable.

Damn I wish my parents would make my payments lmao.

I certainly wouldn't act all high and mighty like this guy though… Dude's literally a leech.

I'm still in favor of student loan forgiveness (and tuition price ceilings so this massive debt problem never happens again) because despite this asshole, the cost never should have been that high.

Also, he's a lucky bastard. There's a lot more people who desperately WANT to pay it off, but can't.

I want to emphasize a point that many here seem to miss completely about his parents:
They are just as responsible as he is for his predicament in relation to the private loans. They should have realized there was no reasonable chance he could pay it without help. If they had behaved like mature adults and refused to cosign, he would not owe this much debt.
He should maximize his income and pay more. But, his parents need to continue their payment to free him faster.

He was happy to borrow the money but isn’t prepared to pay it back. What an entitled attitude! I’d like to have a free College education too.

Was this a joke? Is there an update to this piece of work? It was one thing to take out the loan and refuse to pay, but leaving it up to the parents to pay back is some grade A douchebaggery. You talk about their struggles, then shirk your responsibility onto them? Asshat.

this guy is a child. he is the reason people make fun of this generation ( I am part of that generation btw). I would never allow my Dad to pay 600 a month on my debts. since I was 16 my Dad didnt even buy my food unless i was really strapped. Grow up buddy.

The second he referred to his girlfriend of 11 years as his “partner” I knew there was a problem. I hope there is someone out there who cares enough to tell her to run the other direction. This guy is a lost cause.

This is why our educational system is one of the world's worst. The US is the only country where you have to pay tuition for an education. No wonder people are going to college in Canada, Mexico and Europe.
