This is so true. Filipinos are conditioned to live in a rental economy, where people are deceived to believe that interest over having a property under an amortization scheme is equivalent to truly owning it. It makes me laugh when there are so many people who try to impress you with what they have, but the truth is everything they have is all on credit. Nothing is really theirs.

I have more respect to a farmer who owns and has a title over his land and bahay kubo over a rich guy who's making Php780,000 monthly payment for the 20-year amortization of his mansion, not to mention paying Php80,000/month for his luxury vehicles.

Many Filipinos should watch more of your videos. These myths about debts should be debunked, masarap ang feeling ng walang utang but most of us are using the shortcut method to achieve their dreams. Good Job sa video na ito it should be shared!

Sorry but most filipinos that borrow money don even wan to return it becoz they think that they're entitled to the money, especially if its from their love ones.
When the time comes for them to return, they'll come up with many reasons for them nt to return and they will even dare to ask for more money on top of the money that they've nt return.

1m in 30 years. How about applying time value of money? Parang ok pa din naman

This is only applicable to Filipinos that are mostly in bad debts. But for good debts that are acquiring assets, its actually super cheap for 1M that doubles for 30 years and thats 6.72% including interest to be paid per year. A house has the appreciation value can double in less than 10 years that could be 4~5x its value in 30 years. A stock invested 1M for 30 years in annual 10% return can yield 17M and paying 2M in return is very attractive. But for those who are buying on liabilities, that 30 years repayment is a nightmare and could destroy both your future and financial freedom.
